/, survivor story/Positive Update: Shari’s Stage 4 Cervical Cancer

Hello everyone! Last August the story I submitted was put as a highlight story called “38 Years Old and Diagnosed with Stage 4 Cervical Cancer.” We have appreciated all the support the Globe-athon organization has given us. Even by putting our story out for a second time reminds my mom of support she has both near and far.

I chose to write to you guys to give you an update and to show people that there is always light at the end of the tunnel no matter what the circumstances are.

My mom got diagnosed, went through intense treatment and within 5 months was in remission. She truly was a miracle and her optimism is what I believe to have gotten we through this. Today she got more results back and after 6 months is still cancer free.

For those that are going through hardship like my mom has, must keep fighting because you are your own worst enemy. Stay focused and determined! My mom and I always say “eye on the prize” her “prize” being beating this awful cancer. She’s doing well so far! Thanks again.
