Join the Alyeska Climbathon and Let Every Woman Know – Alaska to challenge your vertical capacity while you climb for a cause. Run or hike the North Face Trail, with friends and family, while raising awareness and money to help end women’s cancers. The Alyeska Climbathon is a multi-lap, all day event held on the North Face Hiking Trail at Alyeska Ski Resort in Girdwood, Alaska. Participants ascend the approximately 2.5 mile hiking trail that gains 2,000 vertical feet from the Hotel Alyeska to the top terminal of the Alyeska Aerial Tram. A lap begins at the tram base, climbs the North Face Trail and is counted at the top of the tram. Participants descend the tram and repeat over and over. Over the course of 10 hours, from 9am- 7pm, participants lap the trail as many times as physically possible. It is a non-timed event. The winner of the event makes the most laps in the event. Proceeds from this race will go to organizations raising awareness for and supporting women with gynecologic cancer. Gynecologic cancers claim the lives of thousands of women each year but many are not aware of the signs and symptoms of these cancers. Let Every Woman Know – Alaska has partnered with Alyeska Climbathon and the Girdwood Clinic to raise funds and awareness to save lives.
