Theme: Cervix screening, VIA and HPV testing

Purpose: Update on cervical cancer screening methods to enhance screening in Grenada

Target Audience: Physicians, Nurses, Midwives, Medical Students

Objectives: Describe cervical neoplasia and cancer as common diseases in Grenada. Understand the incidence and economic impact of cervical cancer around the world. Discuss updates in diagnosis of cervical neoplasia and cancer including HPV testing. Review the role of HPV testing in screening and in the management of abnormal cervical cytology. Discuss HPV Vaccines and consider if appropriate for future in Grenada HPV understand social, political and economic obstacles for HPV vaccination programs. Demonstrate Visual Inspection of the Cervix after Application of the Acetic Acid as a method of screening.
