Globe-athon is a world wide initiative created in to build community awareness of cancers effecting women. What started as a relay foot race in September 2013 has grown into a worldwide initiative of over 60 countries including Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Jordan. The aim of this campaign is to reduce the incidence of and death from gynecological cancers by educating the public on their curable and preventable nature.

As most gynecological cancers are related to obesity, the campaign includes a pledge taken by participants to walk 10,000 steps each day of September and culminates in an event the week of 14 September to include community education, physician speeches, short films, exercise classes and a united walk.
