What we like:

• Instant download. When we ordered the GreenDIYenergy guide there was no waiting period for it to arrive in the mail. It is instantly downloadable as soon as payment is processed. This is great and meant we could immediately begin our project.

• Hard Copys. Even tho you get instant access to the whole guide on the internet,so you can watch the videos and print the instruction immediately. Green DIY energy also send you a hard copy on DVD in the mail. This is great for sharing with family and friends who are impressed with your work. You could also split the costs with somebody one taking the hard copy and the other using the online version.

• Shopping list. First things first, GreenDIYenergy provides a full list of all materials and tools needed to get the job done. Also the quantities of material you need to buy so you don’t overspend on materials you wont use. We just took it with us to the hardware store, could not have been simpler. If you have a shed at home all the tools you need you probably already have, the only unusual item we needed to pick up was a soldering iron.

• Spreadsheets. We loved this feature!  GreenDIYenergy Included a great little tool with the instant download, a spreadsheet that calculates everything from power output of each panel you build it also gives an estimate of how much power each appliance in your home consumes everyday.

• Bonus Materials. Like most products on the internet Green DIY energy offers added bonuses as an extra incentive to buy. In this case the bonus materials add great value. Includes as bonuses are the Video tutorials which actually almost eliminate the need for the plans. Just watch and copy every step. Also included

What could be better:

• The $98 solar panel. Any product that makes a claim should be able to back it up. When reviewing GreenDIYenergy we came across such a claim. They said we could make a panel for $98 or under. After shopping around a bit we were only able to get the materials for $112. Although not a blow out in costs the claim was unestablished.

• Assumptions made. The makers of this product seem to have aimed it a confident DIYers. If you have no experience building or doing home projects this guide does have some detailed builders diagrams that may confuse first timers. only purchase this if you are confident that you can read working building diagrams and electrical diagrams.

• Metric Adjustments. Again For those of you that don’t live in the USA, you will need to convert the blueprint and diagram measurements from the old scale into metric cm and meters.

The Verdict

In the end we were very satisfied with the quality of the product we purchased and also the quality of the solar panel we produced using GreenDIYenergys instructions. It is a complete package. It seemed during the review process that they anticipated each question we would have and provided answers to each in detail. Either through the Video tutorials, the ebooks, excel spreadsheets or the blueprints and color diagrams themselves. We have no problem recommending the report to anyone with a little DIY home project experience. Most of all we had a whole lot of fun building our solar panels and are looking forward to tackling the wind turbine generator from the bonus section of Green DIY energy.
