What we like:

• Clear, Simple, Accurate . The instructions are so simple a monkey could follow them. Great color diagrams, Home mad energy follows a pint buy numbers approach. made things easy.

• Instant download. Like most internet products we were able to gain instant access to the guide. Home made Energy does not offer hard copy backups of their guide though.

What could be better:

• No Video. Our main Gripe. One of the things we liked about some of the other products we have reviewed were the addition of How to Video tutorials. The Home Made Energy system does come with anything like this. The diagrams and plans are very comprehensive but could be complemented with the use of video.

• Price. The most expensive of all we have reviewed. It still pays for itself once the solar panel is on your roof and saving you money, but other products perform better with a smaller price tag.

The Verdict

A fairly good product. Home Made Energy delivers on what it promises on its sales page. The only problem is i does not promise as much as some of the others and is a little pricier as well. If you choose this product you will certainly end up with quality solar panels and a solid wind turbine to power you home but we think you can achieve the same results with other products.

How Much?

Home Made Energy was the most expensive of all the products we have reviewed $297. The price is the main readon for the lower rating of this guide. Although it is a great, easy to follow product we felt that Earth4Energy and Green DIY Energy Were better value for money.

NB. Since writing this review we have checked the price several times and found that Home Made Energy runs regular price promotions. The most recent sale price was $47 (08/09). There also seems to be no regular pattern for their sales but they are regular and don’t last for long. so our advice is if you want buy this particular guide, hold out for the sales but be quick if you catch one.
