Great videos about solar energy, they really inspired me. Today I bought 2 used 30W solar panels for a real bargain, including a charger and a 12VDC -> 220VAC inverter. Set parallel they should do 12V at 5Amps max. What would be a good but cheap battery to use: a 60 Ah car battery could do it?
And how can I calculate or estimate the amount of Watts stored in the battery?

Maybe someone can help me out here. why do you need such a huge solar panel? say for instance this is used for your house. does the PV run my appliances directly or does it simply trickle charge the batteries? with that being said, if the PV only charges, why does it need to be so massive? why wouldn’t a 2Amp panel do the trick? i have a 6 amp PV that is about the size of a piece of paper. would it work for a series of 12 V batteries that are capable of running a 600Watt converter?

@chiodeguate1 1.5hp is over 1000 watts. You would need almost 30 of these:-0 I would suggest cutting the time back to the bare minimum. Most pool companies set it about 2 hours too long to play it safe. Not sure what your is but you can find info on the gallons of your pool and temperature of water for optimal pump cycling on the internet Google it.
